Douglas family is growing!

Kolanda and I connected last year at her Church Girls Movement event. Since then we stayed in touch with each other on social media. Fast Forward to now, I was able to give the Douglas family the ultimate photography experience for their growing family. When we chatted on the phone about her vision of her session, I knew the Cummer Museum would be perfect.

This family was literally picture perfect, let me not forget to mention the weather was absolutely amazing (it always rains in the afternoons in FL). The colors the family chose to wear for the photo session complimented the location flawlessly. During the session, Makai (their son) was loving on Kolanda’s belly and I asked him if he was excited to be a big brother and he responded “YES!”. My heart melted. Kolanda was telling me when the family is at home, Makai loves to talk to her belly and give it kisses – how sweet! No question there, he will be a GREAT big brother!

Kolanda and Marcus have been married for 10 years – what am an amazing accomplishment to celebrate. In their photos you can feel their love and connection between one another. The way Marcus looked at his wife was indescribable. I’m so thrilled that we were able to celebrate their love and pregnancy with everything we have going on in the world. COVID-19 didn’t stop us from being great and creating special memories for them. In times like these, we have to appreciate our time together as a family and love each other a little longer.

The Douglas family will be expecting the little one in September and I am so honored to be documenting this season of life for them. I will be patiently waiting for their call that the baby has arrived so we can photograph them as a family of 4 for the very first time.
